This Decision was issued on August 5, 2022, including the following principal contents:
i) The timeframe for the 2022-2023 school year for preschool, general education, and continuing education nationwide is as follows:
- Return to school at least 1 week before the opening date. Particularly for grade 1, back to school at the earliest 2 weeks before the opening date.
- Organizing the opening ceremony on September 5, 2022.
-. End the first semester by January 15, 2023, complete the second-semester education plan by May 25, 2023, and end the school year by May 31, 2023.
- Considering the recognition of completing the primary program and considering the recognition of middle school graduation before June 30, 2023.
- Complete enrollment for the first-grade classes before July 31, 2023.
- High school graduation and national exams under the Ministry of Education and Training guidance.
ii) The principal to develop local school year time plans
The local school year time plan must ensure the actual study week numbers (divided into two semesters).
- For preschool education, general education has a total of 35 weeks of actual learning;
- For continuing education (implementation of the middle and high school education programs).
+ For grade 8, grade 9, middle school and grade 11, grade 12 high school has a total of 32 real weeks;
+ For grades 6, 7, middle school and grade 10 high school, there are a total of 35 weeks of practical study.
The school year time plan must be suitable to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality; It is necessary to ensure the synchronization for all education levels in a residential area, especially in high schools with multiple education levels. Public holidays and New Year's holidays are implemented following the provisions of the Labor Code and the annually guiding documents.
The decision also assigns responsibility to the Director of the Department of Education and Training:
- Decide for students to leave school in case of extreme weather, and natural disasters and arrange make-up lessons; ensure teachers' time off during the school year.
- Report to the Ministry of Education and Training: the school year preparing situation and the organizing situation of the 2022-2023 school year opening before September 10, 2022; the first semester preliminaries before January 31, 2023; summarize the school year, report on the implementation results of emulation criteria and propose to consider and reward the school year before June 25, 2023...
This Decision takes effect from the date of signing.
